Registration
Teams register online at the Holiday Tournament website.
If more than one team for a level is registered per Park, the Tournament Director may request the Park Representative to determine which team shall be considered for tournament entry.
Team members may be from the same or different parks.
Players must be within one level of each other. For example, 3.0 can play with 2.5 or 3.5 but cannot play with a 2.0 or 4.0. Tournament Director will make final decisions on player level placement.
Affiliate players will be allowed to enter under the park they have played for during the 2025/2026 EVSTL Season.
Winning teams from the 2024 tournament may NOT compete at the same level for one year.
Players must be members of EVSTL.
Brackets
Bracket levels will be 4.0, 4.5, 5.0, 5.5, 6.0, 6.5. 7.0, 7.5, 8.0, 8.5+, 75+
All bracket levels will be limited to 8 teams, a total of 96 teams. In the case of more teams registered than the bracket size, the Tournament Director will determine which level(s) shall have 2 brackets.
Teams are guaranteed 2 matches. Winning teams from the first day continue in the Championship side. Non-winners shall continue into the Consolation side. A team having a bye in the first round and a loss in the second round will also move into the consolation bracket and play twice on the tournament second day.
Entry Fee
$20.00 per person. NOTE: Each player pays their $20 entry fee to their home park.
Critical Dates
Monday October 18th, 2025 – Online Tournament Registration opens.
Friday December 5th, 2025 – Online Registration closes at 9:00pm.
Monday December 8th, 2025 - SVE Treasurer will email all Park Reps a listing of all entered tournament participants and amount due. Brackets will be available at the Holiday Tournament website.
Wednesday December 10th, 2025 – All Parks will submit 1 payment for all entrants from their park, either by delivering a check to the SVE representative at the SVE Tennis Courts from 2:00 - 4:00 PM or by utilizing Zelle payable to SVETennisTreasurer@gmail.com.
Friday December 12th, 2024 - Tournament Play begins at 7:30am

Game Day Check-In
Players must check-in 30 minutes before their scheduled match. Check-in for the first matches of the day at least 15 minutes prior to the start of the match. Teams will default after 10 minutes if they do not report for their assigned court time.
Weather Delays
Rain Out Date - Monday December 15th, 2025
If play is suspended due to rain, play may continue as soon as the courts are deemed playable by the Tournament Director. Final determination as to court safety is the responsibility of the players. Alternative sites may be utilized so check the status on the Holiday Tournament website.
If a player leaves the court area, it is their responsibility to keep in touch with the tournament officials and/or check the Holiday Tournament website for updates.
Awards
Each level shall have medals awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place. Each medal winning team will have a tournament photo taken.
Schedule of Play
All players are responsible for checking the draw brackets for their scheduled match either at the draw board or Holiday Tournament website.
Play will begin at 7:30am and the last matches will be scheduled for 4:15pm.
Matches will consist of 2 sets, if tied at 6-6 a 7-point Coman tie break will determine the set winner.
If the set score is 1-1, teams will play a 10-point Coman tie break to determine the match winner.
1st deuce will be game point and will be gender to gender with the server moving to match gender receiver.
Both consolation and championship finals will play regular EVSTL match rules with normal EVSTL scoring. (play out deuce games and 6-6 to create a set tiebreak).
Each match is scheduled for 75 minutes including warm-up.
If play falls behind, the Tournament Director may change from a 6-6 set format to 5-5.
Rules of Play
Players must be at least 50 years of age.
Scorekeepers will be provided for all matches. Players will call their own lines and resolve disputes such as line calls, scoring, etc. Scorekeepers keep score only.
Substitutes will be allowed prior to the first round of play and must be made before check-in. The substitute player(s) must follow the Tournament bracket level entry guidelines.
When a court is available early, play may start before the scheduled time except for the finals.
Injury time outs will be limited to 10 minutes. If at the end of that time a player cannot continue, they shall be considered in default.
If a player is unable to complete a match for any reason, they shall be considered in default. Teams are to play their scheduled time unless the director designates a “Bye”.
Warm up is five (5) minutes including serves and is strictly enforced to help stay on schedule. Scorekeepers are asked to notify you when there is 1 minute remaining so you can practice serves.
Line judges will be available upon request.
All four (4) players will check draw board or Holiday Tournament website for next scheduled start time.
Liability forms must be signed at registration desk on the first day of registration.
Please keep rest breaks short. Minimize rest time between games 1 & 2 of sets, and tiebreakers should have continuous play. Should the temperature be hot the scorekeeper shall allow additional rest time.
Player Responsibilities
The goal of our tournament is fairness and fun for all. Players are personally responsible for placing themselves in the proper bracket for their current playing level or higher.
Enter the court as soon as the previous match ends.
Be ready to begin 5 minute match warm-up when you enter the court.
Silence cell phones!
Courtesy and sportsmanship are expected from players and spectators.
At the conclusion of your match, please collect your equipment and leave the court quickly to allow the next match to begin. Please accept congratulations or condolences off the court.
