Spring Tournament
Registration:
If more than one team for a gender/level is registered per Park, the Tournament Director may request the Park Representative to determine which team shall be considered for tournament entry.
In the case of more teams registered than the bracket size, the Tournament Director will determine which teams will be entered into the tournament.
Players should register at the level they are playing at in the EVSTL as of January 4th.
Brackets:
Bracket levels will be 2.0, 2.5, 3.0, 3.5, 4.0, 4.5, 75+A (3.5-up) and 75+B (2.0,2.5 & 3.0).
Final team bracket distributions will depend on the number of entrant teams.
Teams are guaranteed 2 matches. Winning teams continue in the Championship side, non-winners continue in the Consolation side. A team having a bye in the first round and a loss in the second round will also move into the consolation bracket.
Entry Fees:
$30.00 per person. NOTE: Each player pays their $30 entry fee to their home park.
Critical Dates:
Sunday January 4th - Tournament Registration opens.
Friday February 27th - Registration closes at 4:00pm.
Sunday March 1st - SVE will email all Park Reps an invoice listing all tournament entrants from their park and the amount due. Brackets will be posted on the SVE Spring Tournament website.
Tuesday March 3rd - All Parks will submit 1 payment for all entrants from their park, either by delivering a check to the SVE representative at the SVE Tennis Courts from 2:00 - 4:00 PM or by utilizing Zelle payable to SVETennisTreasurer@gmail.com.
Monday March 9th - Tournament play begins.

Registration Check-in:
Players must check-in 30 minutes before each scheduled match.
Check-in time for the first of the day matches is 15 minutes prior to the start of match.
Teams will default after 10 minutes if they do not report for their assigned court time.
Rain Delay:
If play is suspended due to rain, play may continue as soon as the courts are deemed playable by the Tournament Director.
Final determination as to court safety is the responsibility of the players.
Alternative sites may be utilized so check the status on the SVE Spring Tournament website.
Rules of Play:
Players must be at least 50 years of age and be a member of EVSTL.
Players can play up one level but cannot play down. For example, a 3.0 can play with 3.5 but the team must register at 3.5. A 3.0 cannot play with a 2.0 or 4.0.
Substitutes will be allowed prior to the first round of play and must be made before check-in. The substitute player(s) must have the same or lower ability level. No substitutes after commencement of 1st round play.
When a court is available early, play may start before the scheduled time except for the finals.
Injury time out will be limited to 10 minutes. If a player is unable to complete a match for any reason, they shall be considered in default.
Warm up is 5 minutes including serves and is strictly enforced to help stay on schedule.
Scorekeepers will be provided for all matches and line judges will be available upon request.
All matches are 2 sets with a 3rd set match tiebreaker, if necessary.
All levels will play Coman Seven (7) point set tie breaker.
All levels will play Coman Ten (10) point match tie breaker.
All matches will be 2nd Deuce game point except in the finals when all deuces will be played out. 2nd Deuce game point will be receivers’ choice on which player will receive the serve.
If matches are running late, the Tournament Director may require no-ad scoring (1st Deuce game point) and/or 5-5 goes to tiebreak.
1st place winning teams from the 2025 tournament may NOT compete at the same level with the same partner in the 2026 tournament.
Player Responsibilities:
The goal of our tournament is fairness and fun for all. Players are responsible for placing themselves in the proper bracket for their current playing level or higher.
Courtesy and sportsmanship are expected from players and spectators.
Players must sign a Liability Waiver at the registration desk on the first day of their check-in.
Enter the court as soon as the previous match ends and be ready to begin your match warm-up.
Please silence cell phones!
Players must resolve disputes such as line calls, scoring, etc. Scorekeepers keep score only.
At the conclusion of your match, please collect your equipment and leave the court quickly.
All players are responsible for checking the draw brackets for their next scheduled match at the SVE Spring Tournament website.
Parking is limited - please carpool if possible.
